About Salt & Gorse
A creative production studio making story-driven films and branded content for brands, agencies and charities who believe in the power of well-made film.
The Studio
Salt & Gorse began not in a studio but on the street. Borrowed cameras, late-90s skate videos, the instinct that documenting a moment honestly is more powerful than staging a perfect one. That conviction has shaped everything we have made since.
Today we create brand films, commercials, documentaries and campaigns for clients who want work that resonates, not just looks good. Our roots are in Cornwall. Its pace, rawness and clarity inform the way we see. But we work nationally and internationally, across industries and time zones, wherever the story takes us.
What unites every project is the same approach: curiosity first, craft second, and a genuine care for the people we work with.

The Director
Ben founded Salt & Gorse on the belief that commercial filmmaking should carry the same weight as the films we watch for pleasure. He directs every project personally, from brief to final cut, bringing the same attention to a gin commercial as to a charity documentary.
His work spans brand films, commercials, music videos and long-form documentary. Across everything, one thread runs consistently: a refusal to settle for work that merely looks the part.
He is based in Cornwall, spends as much time as possible in the water, and has a tendency to find adventures that do not always involve work.

How We Work
Every project starts with a genuine conversation about what matters, who it is for, and why it needs to exist. We do not bring templates. We bring questions.
We put together the right team for each project, cinematographers, editors and specialists chosen because they are right for the work, not because they happen to be available.
From brief to delivery we work alongside our clients as creative partners. Honest about what will and will not serve the work. Committed to making something worth making.

If you have a project in mind, a brief half-formed, or just a feeling that your brand deserves better film, we would like to hear from you.
